Welcome to Open Century Music
Open Century Music is a record label focused on blues, based in Seattle. Our goal is to recreate the energetic spirit of the small, regional labels that captured the formative years of the blues in the 20th century, while leveraging the ability to reach blues fans in the 21st through the open paths enabled by the web. Open Century Music encompases in-house recording, publishing, and marketing skills, and the vision for the label is to be a cooperative conduit for musicians the label believes in to record, publish, and distribute their music to mutual benefit.
OCM currently features Brian Lee & the Orbiters. The first OCM release was Brian Lee & the Orbiters' album "Identity Theft". Identity Theft won the Washington Blues Society 2012 "Best of the Blues" award for Best Recording, and hit the Living Blues Magazine Radio Charts at #15 for February 2012. That album provided a vehicle to expand the market and media footprint of both band and label beyond their Northwest base, and has been very succesful. OCM now presents Brian Lee & the Orbiters' newest album, "In Orbit". Check it out!
